Bénisson-Dieu (La) - Abbaye Bénisson-Dieu (La) - Abbaye Cistercian Royal Abbey founded in 1138, the day of Michaelmas, 30th daughter of Clairvaux, by Alberic disciple of St. Bernard. The abbey church was completed in the late 12th century. Remodeled in the late 15th century, Pierre de la Fin, last abbot and regular first abbot commendatory it added a fortified tower.
