A successful summer

Constantin and Marie Kinsky, the owners of Zdar Estate, have seen their efforts specially recognized: their Next Generation Museum has been placed second on the list of the ten best museums in the Czech Republic. Marie was nominated “Woman of the Year” by the Region, for her work at the head of the Center for Choreographic Development SE-s-TA, which she set up and through which she runs the KoresponDance festival. (Mark the date of the next one, mid July 2019). Following the activities she initiated as soon as she arrived in the Republic, more than 20 years ago, SE-s-TA aims at three goals directed at the public and the world of professionals : introduce contemporary dance to the public and the dancers, restricted for 50 years to classical ballet inspired by the Bolshoi theater (the Big Brother); allow the public to involve themselves and take part, so as to discover their own abilities; provide a platform for professionals from the world of dancing and living theater to meet, exchange their experience and cooperate, through conferences, round tables, (in Zdar and elsewhere including abroad), and in residence on the Estate. This summer, companies and artists from Ghana, Mexico, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Great Britain, Italy and the Czech Republic worked at their projects in Residence, covering the fields of dance, scenography and photography. Symposium : “Geistliche Frauen im Mittelalter – Die Zisterzienserinnen in Heiligkreuztal”

26.07. 2019, 10:30 Uhr – 27.07.2019, 19:00 Uhr. Aus Anlass der Weihe des Münsters Heiligkreuztal im Jahr 1319 findet vom 26. – 27. Juli 2019 eine wissenschaftliche Tagung zur Geschichte des Klosters Heiligkreuztal statt. Alle Interessierten sind eingeladen, daran teilzunehmen : Architekturgeschichte, Kunstgeschichte, Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte, Spiritualität und Theologie, Begleitprogramm (Führungen, Musik: Kompositionen u.a. aus Lichtenthal). III International Meeting of Cistercian Abbeys in Alcobaça

Monastery of Alcobaça [Portugal], November 23-24th, 2018. Promoted by the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage / Monastery of Alcobaça, with the objective of affirming this Cistercian Monastery (inscribed in the List of World Heritage – UNESCO) as an international reference space in the discussion on the management of Cistercian sites, the 3rd edition of this meeting has as theme “Beyond borders: the Cistercian heritage and the European cultural identity today”. Since the twelfth century the Cistercians developed an amazing action in the construction of the landscape and the cultural identity of Europe. Today, thousands of visitors cross borders to know this magnificent heritage that is part of their own identity. Being 2018 the European Year of Cultural Heritage, we intend to discuss the role of Cistercian sites in the knowledge and promotion of European cultural identity in the contemporary world. Managers of Cistercian abbeys from 8 countries, members of the European Charter of Cistercian Abbeys and Sites, and experts on European cultural routes are participating in the meeting. The « European Forum : Cistercians at the North Sea and the Baltic Sea » is an association of Cistercian places and people who are interested in them. We deal with the heritage of the Cistercian order, its branches near the North Sea and the Baltic Sea and that what may be called « specific local Cistercian spirit ». In Averbode (Belgium) we will spend the night an have catering. There will also be the presentations and from there we will visit Cisterian monasteries: Westmalle, Herkenrode, and some others. September, 14-16th 2018. Bierzwnik : participation in the Forum

On 8-10 July 2018 members of the Association of Postcistercian Heritage Protection in Bierzwnik took part in the next National Forum of the Cistercian Route, that was organised in Marianowo in West Pomerania. This year’s Forum was also the part of celebrating 770th anniversary of cistercian nuns arrival to Marianowo. As in the Forum participated also guests from teh European Charter (France, Belgium and Portugal) volunteers Monika Kurpisz MA and Daria Olejniczak MA from our Association were personal translators to foreign visitors. One of the events during the Forum was conference concerning cistercian nuns in West Pomerania. Memebers of our Association were also speakers during the conference. Barbara Stolpiak PhD and Teresa Świercz MA presented project entitled ‘Cistercian nuns in West Pomerania and Cistercian Route in Poland’. Magdalena Poklewska-Koziełł MA presented paper entitled ‘Tiles from archaeological research in former monastery in Cedynia ‘. It needs to be emphasized that Association of Postcistercian Heritage Protection in Bierzwnik once more supported substantively organisation of the Forum of the Cistercian Route (Teresa Świercz).

Waldsassen : Tag des offenen Denkmals – 9. September 2018

“Entdecken, was uns verbindet” heißt das Motto des Tags des offenen Denkmals in diesem Jahr und bezieht sich damit explizit auf das Europäische Kulturerbejahr 2018. Das Motto zeigt, wie Denkmale Brücken schlagen zwischen Baustilen, Regionen, Kulturen und Menschen. Denn kein Denkmal steht allein: Die von den Erbauern verwendeten Baumaterialien, Techniken und Stile verbinden die verschiedenen Regionen und Gattungen. Rares Baumaterial wurde über weite Strecken verhandelt und reisende Handwerker brachten neues Know-how. Stilelemente anderer Länder und Epochen inspirierten Architekten zu neuen Baustilen, die nicht nur die repräsentativen, sondern bald auch die bürgerlichen Bauten prägten. Denkmale sind immer ein Spiegel ihrer Zeit – und damit auch der Offenheit einer Gesellschaft gegenüber neuen Einflüssen. Führungen im Mühlenviertel : 10 Uhr und 14 Uhr.

Musique à Fontmorigny

Le 20e festival de « Musique à Fontmorigny » organisé par les Amis de l’Abbaye et placé sous la direction artistique d’Emmanuel Bardon, commencera le dimanche de Pentecôte (20 mai 2018 15h) et s’étendra pendant la période d’été, aux samedis 18 et 25 août. Le concert du 20 mai dans le Réfectoire des Convers « Wiener Rhapsodies » autour de Brahms et Schubert sera interprété par le duo de piano à quatre mains Hervé Billaut/ Guillaume Coppola et comme habituellement, le concert sera précédé d’une mise en écoute de Gilles Cantagrel. Les concerts d’été accueilleront deux magnifiques ensembles, Canticum Novum (direction E.Bardon) qui présentera son spectacle concert « Ararat », l’Ensemble Celadon (direction Paulin Bündgen) pour sa création « musique sacrée dans la cité des doges » ainsi que les deux grands percussionnistes Henri-Charles Caget et Ismaïl Mesbahi sur le thème des milles et un rythmes d’Orient et d’Occident. Zdar : le festival KoresponDance, notez la date !

Le Festival KoresponDance 2018 se déroulera à Zdar du 13 au 15 juillet, précédé par une ouverture le 26 juin à Prague au château de Troja. Plus alléchant que jamais le programme prévoit 18 spectacles de 12 compagnies, provenant de 3 continents, pour présenter dance, nouveau cirque, théâtre…. La participation des habitants, adultes et enfants, aux côtés de professionnels mondialement reconnus constitue l’une des originalités du Festival, objectif recherché par ses organisateurs dès le début et qui remporte un succès croissant. De même que les ateliers pour les spectateurs venus des alentours ou de plus loin, leur permettant de s’initier aux joies du spectacle. Morimond : réalisation d’une bande dessinée

L’association des amis de l’abbaye de Morimond a demandé la réalisation d’une bande dessinée sur l’histoire de Morimond au 12e siècle. Mathieu Flammarion a été choisi comme artiste pour ce projet. Cet ouvrage devrait être publié en août 2018. De l’arrivée des moines dans le Bassigny, venant de Cîteaux à la consécration de la première abbatiale en 1154, retrouvez toutes les étapes du développement du monastère : les moines de chœur et les frères convers au travail dans les granges, les illustres abbés, la noblesse locale comme les villageois qui participent au développement de l’abbaye par leurs aumônes. À travers la génération des fondateurs, moines et convers, on voit se développer et s’organiser la vie de l’abbaye et de ses granges alentour. (more…)

Festival de Musique à La Prée, 18 au 21 mai 2018 – direction artistique Hortense Cartier-Bresson

L’Abbaye de La Prée, outre la beauté du lieu, nous offre par le silence rare qui y règne des conditions d’écoute exceptionnelles. C’est aussi un espace de convivialité et de partage. L’hôtellerie pour personnes âgées et les résidences d’artistes encouragent l’échange entre des individus aux expériences de vie diverses. Franz Schubert sera le compositeur « invité » de cette édition 2018 du festival « Musique à La Prée ». Chaque concert comprendra une de ses œuvres majeures de musique de chambre. Parmi celles-là, le quintette La Truite et l’Octuor reflètent la quintessence de cette convivialité et de cette chaleur intime dont il a le secret. (more…)
