The Buch Monastery was founded in 1192 by the Cistercian monks. Monastic life for 340 years until the Reformation, then 460 years of agriculture until the year 1994 - this is the eventful history of the Buch Monastery. The monastery is faithfully preserved according to its historical roots, is restored and developed into a cultural-historical center.
Old walls let you immerse into the past and life of the Cistercian monks. Architectural beauty of Romanesque and Gothic elements and the gentle landscape of the Freiberger Mulde River offer a lot to the visitors.
